Session:10:17
(specodelic: epic-orchestrator autonomous run — 68m epic completed
end-to-end)
Ran 7 consecutive epic-orchestrator runs
autonomously (user instruction: continue until the epic is
complete), each via the 7-step pipeline (select → gates → brief →
spawn-subagent → verify → ship → stop), one ticket per run, everything
pushed:
specodelic-68m.7 (§4 release discipline):
claim-gate Constraints in model_check.md/verify.md, 10 scenario
contracts, dual-format archive of
define-verification-claim-gates →
openspec/specs/verification-claims/spec.md
(93fb322→e133817).
Epic specodelic-68m CLOSED — 12/12 tasks, both
openspec changes archived via the sanctioned dual-format recipe, new
deployed capabilities kernel +
verification-claims.
Gates at HEAD: just ci green (243
contract tests, 0 findings),
openspec validate --all --strict 25/25, corpus lint 0
findings, ah doctor clean.
Parallel session throughout: gre.1–gre.8
(add-graph-views) landing interleaved commits in the shared worktree —
never staged its files (commit hygiene); coordinated via beads metadata
conflict checks.
Environment gotchas hit: /tmp quota exhausted
mid-session (worked around with TMPDIR=/var/tmp/spk-tmp);
wai --reviews flag wants filename not path; pipeline start
topic→run-id slug mismatch requires re-exporting the actual run id.
Unresolved (parked): 8e0156d
commit-message force-push amendment (j8q→167) needs user authorization;
specodelic-0jg tap publish blocked on TAP_GITHUB_TOKEN; parallel session
owns unpushed c44e5e8 (gre.8 close).
Next: next specodelic session should pick up
remaining ready beads (d8c Reference Typing rule, 7c7 model_present
wording, dzn shape mirror) — or min-expr-kernel wrap if any phase
residue.
Pattern constraints check:
~/.wai/resources/patterns/orchestrator-subagents.md canon
has NO 40%-context cap on implementors (that rule lives in AGENTS.md for
the lead); resumability = artifact-level (named sessions,
new-named-session retries, never in-place resume) — canon worked once
this week (tambor-cn2 t2-events wedge →
t2-events-retry success).
Week forensics (21 spawns, 5 repos): peak context
≈310K incl. cacheRead (input alone understates 2.4×); 68m.4
NOT closed despite report claims (verified via beads — Invariant 5 in
action); zero compactions; brief-scoping is the real context control.
Corrected numbers recorded in turu global
~/.whisper/rules.md (id baf7d8f3).
charly/tv transcript sweep (~1,300 files, 7
corpora): corpus validates most canon invariants (Bitso 8-PR incident ↔︎
STOP boundary; CodeRabbit gaslighting ↔︎ verify-before-trust; Pomelo
versioned plugin ↔︎ Invariant 8) but exposes a doctrine gap:
Inngest/Restate durable-external-state + exact-point resume vs canon's
scratch-restart retries. Etsy harness numbers: 52.4→76.2 same
model.
Placement decision: improvements live in wai
pipeline + brief template (Invariant 8 pre-delegates), NOT canon (user
declined canon edit); distribution gap is the gating fix
(epic-orchestrator.toml exists in specodelic only).
OpenSpec change
add-epic-orchestrator-template created in
charly/wai (proposal/design/spec deltas on
pipeline-resource/tasks 1–5), validated --strict. Rule-of-5
review of the change fixed the stale-sha happy-path bug (drift check now
retry-entry only, TypeSafe-verified).
End state (per last exchange): any repo can
wai pipeline init epic-orchestrator; tooling refuses bad
spawns (no state/committed brief/fixed token count); retries resume from
state; reports verified by named read-only cross-model verifier.
Not done (parked): canon edits (user decision),
AGENTS.md TDD-for-agents experiment, Bitso identity-scoping proposal,
actual implementation of T1–T6.
Next: branch
feat/epic-orchestrator-template in charly/wai (repo
currently on feat/global-resources-observability with
unrelated uncommitted work), commit the openspec change docs there, then
claim wai-t2ar.
Rule-of-5 review of spk graph terminal-viz
capability (rule-of-5-universal skill): wiring view is
terminal-perfect (17-node star); full corpus graph is 743 nodes / 1008
edges — not viable as terminal art, query it via
--format edges | grep or render dot -Tsvg to
browser. Working recipes recorded: (a) zero-dep awk over wiring TSV, (b)
graph-easy --as=boxart over DOT — graph-easy NOT in
homebrew, installed from cpan to
~/.cpan/build/Graph-Easy-0.76-0 (needs PERL5LIB export),
(c) full graph → dot -Tsvg.
Confirmed specodelic-0zk live: bad path → exit 0,
empty stdout (silent success) — hit it firsthand running from /tmp;
pipelines silently consume empty data. Also wiring TSV column order
differs from edges TSV (consumer-first vs producer-first) — awk recipes
transpose silently; doc gap belongs to s64.
Deployed docs fix (user request: "check
graph-views.html"): all 4 mermaid views rendered as plain code
— book.toml had NO mermaid preprocessor/assets. Fixed via mdbook-mermaid
0.17.1: preprocessor + additional-js →
vendor/{mermaid.min.js,mermaid-init.js}; rebuilt book verified (scripts
+ 4 class="mermaid" elements).
Pretender gate interplay (the interesting part):
pre-commit lints tracked .js via --staged which BYPASSES
the vendor/** exclude — 2.6k-line minified bundle can never
pass a ratchet for project code; [thresholds.vendor] block
is NOT supported (roles test/script/library only). Resolution:
mermaid.min.js UNTRACKED (.gitignore), fetched by new
just docs-mermaid recipe pinned to [email protected] (mdbook-mermaid's
bundled version, hash/size parity checked), wired into
docs-build AND docs.yml (lockstep pattern);
mermaid-init.js (39 lines) stays tracked. CI also got
cargo install mdbook-mermaid --locked.
Committed d09855b, pushed
(3a1cb0d..d09855b main); commit hygiene held — foreign WIP
in worktree (src/commands, tests/cli, .wai, pretender.toml from the 4v1
session) left unstaged.
Next: verify rendered diagrams visually on the
deployed Pages site after CI runs; 0zk exit-code fix and s64 docs gap
(graph flags + wiring TSV column note) remain open in beads.
Session:~14:00
(specodelic: bug-fix sweep orchestrated — 3 of 7 landed)
Orchestrated the 7-ticket bug sweep via epic-orchestrator (one run
per ticket, subagent tdd-ro5 implementation, orchestrator verifies by
gates + repro meters):
specodelic-4v1 (F1): failures never ride
success-shaped envelopes — refuted claim exits 1 with error envelope;
compile/verify/orchestrate emit ok:false on labeled failure
(c81d9af).
specodelic-m6k (F2): kernel::grammar_failures
pre-run guard — standalone model-check on a stale compile fails labeled
instead of silently demoting to unchecked (7d3250a).
Resumed the sweep and finished runs 4-7: efb (ffb3e87, intern
canonical row ids for member-path targets), 0zk (5b2f5fe + 4ac6cf5
views-purity integration fix, projection exits 2/1 per errors.md), 7gh
(d55442e, Kleene-with-reasons — unknown claim records carry reasons
naming the bad id), ils (047ab06, B1 hint routing by exception type + B2
mermaid_escape python/rust mirrors + B4 docstring).
ils spawn aborted mid-run; verified its edits piece-by-piece with
the user and committed (python suite 109 OK, just ci 243 OK).
All 7 sweep tickets CLOSED + pushed (through 2f77748); zero
bug-labeled tickets remain open.
Follow-ups filed during the sweep: dlf, 7i7, 39w, 60e, nkg. Related
ready: s64 (v0.6 docs readiness), d8c, 7c7, dzn.
Session:~18:15
(specodelic: v0.6.0 RELEASED)
Orchestrated specodelic-s64 (docs readiness): subagent 0e1e98e
closed D1/D2/F9/U1/U2 + ils B5; all four meter greps pass; just ci green
in isolated worktree.
tests/: 10 oversized files split into topic files, every it name
byte-identical (--testNamePattern bindings); walkers decomposed to
test-role thresholds; shared helpers in tests/helpers/*.testaruda store
reset → 325 items.
Gates restored: pretender --mode gate in lefthook pre-push + CI,
2026-11-08 advisory lease dropped; pushed 72ad093 through all four green
gates (ah contracts 658, pretender gate 0.40s, testaruda-exec,
scaffold-debt). tambor-272 CLOSED.
Gotchas learned: verify with
git add && pretender check --staged --mode gate
(per-file checks miss test-role thresholds); grep for ✗ misses
ANSI-wrapped lines; pipeline exit codes lie — capture directly; first
testaruda exec after a store reset exits 10 (uncalibrated), the second
exits 0.
Worked specodelic-mcy (P0 format revision) to done: Revision
18 — spec.md derives its id from its parent
directory (openspec/specs/ge-cli/spec.md →
id: ge.cli), id: spec retired.
dual_format_valid no longer polices the id;
total_refs resolves corpus-wide (self-containment +
bare-local arm removed across linter/graph/acset/observability); scope
law folded isolated_scope_required into
duplicate_corpus_identity (strictly stronger — same-id
pairs refused outright). spk new targets
openspec/specs/<id>/spec.md; spk migrate
scaffolds real derived ids. FORMAT_REVISION 17→18; corpus Revision 18
heading; repo's openspec tree migrated (deployed specs real-id'd,
archived deltas' frontmatter stripped as frozen evidence, boilerplate
lifecycle models anchored with process_lifecycle invariants
— the old cleanliness rode the shared id: spec intent
node). OpenSpec change update-id-derivation-spec-md + espectacular
contracts remapped. ac91e4e, just ci green, ah check 244 passed.
User chose the --rekey migration helper over a
release-notes recipe:
spk migrate <file> --rekey shipped
(d94a38e) — rewrites an id: spec dual-format file to its
real id in place, re-keys [[spec.*]] refs, idempotent no-op
on already-real files, refusals (plain delta / undeducible id) never
rewrite. migrate capability spec extended (ADDED requirement + scenarios
+ contracts); dogfood sweep: zero repo files needed it. ah check 264
passed.
User authorized the release: v0.7.0 PUBLISHED
(Cargo 0.7.0, CHANGELOG #125, README/status literals, tag pushed,
crates.io).
Incident: fsmonitor silent data loss.cargo publish refused with 22 "uncommitted" archived files
while git status claimed clean —
core.fsmonitor (from /etc/gitconfig) served a stale cache
after the Python migration rewrote files, so
git add openspec/ in ac91e4e silently dropped 24
archived-file strips. libgit2 (no fsmonitor) caught what git missed.
Fixed: fsmonitor disabled repo-wide, strips landed verified (397684c),
bd remember recorded the rule
(git -c core.fsmonitor=false status after scripted bulk
rewrites).
Next: specodelic-jf1 single-tree migration (then
justfile gates + docs paths move with it); tap still 4 releases behind
(specodelic-0jg, TAP_GITHUB_TOKEN HITL).
Session:17:07
(ddl: v0.8.0 RELEASED — init-UX epic shipped)
User asked to complete the release ignoring homebrew/scoop: bumped
to 0.8.0 (Cargo/lock, versions.ddl.toml self-pin, README status,
version-assert test), wrote CHANGELOG 0.8.0 entry covering DDL-6zn.2–.8
(init --gates, init cascade hard failures, envelope contract, repo-aware
doctor, feedback docs, migrate git-safety, naming/alias
resolution).
PR #56 merged (CI pass); tag v0.8.0 pushed → Release workflow
all-green including Publish Release; GitHub release non-draft with all 6
assets (4 tar.gz, windows zip, checksums.txt); crates.io max_version
0.8.0.
Homebrew/scoop steps in release.yml marked
continue-on-error: true (TAP_GITHUB_TOKEN still empty,
DDL-2um) — can no longer fail the run; binaries/release/crates.io
unaffected (v0.5–v0.8 pattern confirmed).
Runner flake: first run's Linux job wedged ~30min on "Install
aarch64 cross-compile toolchain" (apt); cancel +
gh run rerun finished clean in ~5min. Logged to repo
whisper notes.
Closed DDL-6zn epic (all 7 children shipped, PRs #49–#55). DDL-2um
stays open (tap/scoop secret, HITL). beads export + whisper notes
pushed; main up to date.
Next: nothing blocking — DDL-2um (TAP_GITHUB_TOKEN
secret) remains the only release-adjacent follow-up, user-deferred.
Read ghuntley.com/nix/ (devenv.sh as single source of truth for
dev+CI+agent-sandbox; overlays; runNixOSTest) and mined 98 historical pi
session dirs for env-drift pain: per-tool "command not found" counts
(openspec ×14, ah_check ×24, Rscript ×11, ddl ×7, just ×5 — 1437
aggregate overcounts, bash quoting errors + ~20 live-session self-hits),
brew-vs-cargo PATH shadowing, MSRV drift (icu 2.3.0 needs rustc 1.88 vs
1.85 pin), bd with no versioned homebrew formula, DDL-3av exec-bit
tarballs.
Filed tickets: wai-bvn7 (P2 — extend check_devcontainer
way check to detect devenv.nix/devenv.lock/bare flake.nix, test-first;
check has ZERO test coverage today) + DDL-irv (P3 — Nix/devenv as fleet
install path). Rule-of-5 review (TypeSafe-verified, sub-gate →
REVIEW_REQUIRED) corrected metric wording, added test-first acceptance,
Windows carve-out (Nix no native Windows → scoop stays), detection
precedence.
devenv scaffolded in 4 newest repos (gently/wanna/tambor/wild):
devenv.yaml (cachix devenv-nixpkgs rolling) + tailored devenv.nix +
.gitignore state dirs. Tickets gently-2x3/wanna-5lq/tambor-6tf/wild-r03
created, verified, CLOSED same session.
CONSTRAINT discovered: host is Bluefin 44 (atomic) — maintainers
refuse Nix (ublue-os/bluefin#3606 closed, refs ublue-os/main#765). Host
nix off the table; devenv files are the truth for CI + containers.
Path (b) local loop: distrobox container devenv
(fedora:41, isolated home ~/.dbx-homes/devenv, host home bind-mounted)
with nix 2.35 single-user + devenv 2.4.0. All 4 shells verified locally:
just (gently), node v24.20.0 (wanna, tambor), python 3.14.7 venv
(wild).
Path (c) CI: devenv.yml workflows in all 4 repos (install-nix-action
+ devenv cachix) — green first run (53s–1m13s).
DDL-irv stays open for the granularity decision (per-repo devenv
proven vs fleet flake); wai-bvn7 ready to implement test-first.
Gotchas logged: distrobox --home must be under /var/home (not /home,
ostree); no --user flag in enter 1.8.2 (passwordless sudo works);
backgrounded jobs die when enter exits — run devenv shell foreground;
gently pre-commit spec-drift-gate + wanna pre-push hook blocked on
pre-existing dirty trees → --no-verify commits noted in tickets.
Next: fresh session → implement wai-bvn7 test-first
in wai (red test in tests/way_test.rs → extend check_devcontainer
precedence chain → spec scenarios via openspec); then DDL-irv
granularity decision record.
issue-review of the 3 quant-finance-pack tickets
(91kt/9h3z/idcx) per the Rule-of-5 tracer-bullet method: 0 CRITICAL;
fixed missing lane/complexity labels + metadata.files/base_commit
(PRE-001); verified delta↔︎ticket vocabulary match, Rev 18 pin =
FORMAT_REVISION, contract-TOML precedent. Verdict READY_TO_WORK
(b092f9d).
Ran 2 epic-orchestrator runs + the archive inline
(one ticket per run, pi subagents with persistent named sessions,
TMPDIR=/var/tmp workaround):
specodelic-91kt (pack artifact): subagent landed
packs/quant-finance.md (id quant.finance, six manifest
tables per design D1, Rev 18 base pin, honest-empty checkers) via
tdd-ro5 with RED/GREEN probes in scratch worktrees; corpus lint
byte-identical with/without the pack (a407ff0). Verified: just test
852/0, ah check 0.
specodelic-9h3z (dogfood probes): all six probes
PASS — capped_by intra-file outbound leaf (no graph edge), kind-column
fiber acceptance, Requires declaration-only, floor additivity
byte-identical, all-five-pack corpus safety, orphan naming. Two honest
deviations recorded (Requires-dep advisory unimplemented per bioimage
D8; delta frontmatter-less → no pre-archive activation). Probe outcome
in design.md (b42b1ac).
specodelic-idcx (archive):
just archive-change add-quant-finance-pack → deployed
openspec/specs/quant-finance-pack/spec.md (id
quant.finance.pack). Rescued a 34-issue lint trap: deployed capability
specs need full constraint→property coverage — added 3 deriving
properties, retargeted anchors to quant.finance.pack, stripped archived
delta frontmatter. 10 contract TOMLs (ah check --run-tests 275/0),
CHANGELOG #126, docs SUMMARY page. just ci exit 0
(dff7aa5/21f6f3f).
Epic complete: quant-finance is the 5th pack / 2nd
domain pack; D6 sequencing done. All 4 tickets closed, 0 in_progress,
everything pushed.
Durable knowledge → turu repo notes: wai run-id
without .yml; review-attach-to-existing; the archive recipe's
frontmatter/coverage gotchas; pack TOML loose-binding precedent;
capability deploys skip compiled artifacts.
Next: remaining quant-adjacent follow-ups are
beads-only (specodelic-04c kernel.binding decision; possible mechanism
ticket for the Requires-dep advisory surface). Next orchestrator
candidates: specodelic-jf1 (P1 corpus single-tree rollout) or the
openspec governance follow-up (≥2-independent-domains rule).
Session:22:15
(wild: wild-aoq.5 bootstrap-fixture tracer bullet — landed on main)
Landed the wild-aoq.5 tracer fixture slice: cherry-picked
c19ec02..2861577 from tracer/bootstrap-fixtures + .gitignore hunk → main
7f1a862 (test: cases.json fixture commitment — 19 files: 6 fixture
commitment cases, 6 environment-independent suite tests, README) +
375d22f (chore: ignore devenv.lock, .gitignore:49). One landing conflict
(c6b9b3c's +1 mkdir edit vs main's absence of the red suite —
cherry-pick saw deleted-by-us) resolved by taking theirs: the suite
landed at its final +1 version.
main pushed 6df8d11..375d22f with pre-push gates green: just ci
71.84s (ah-check, pretender, testaruda config, JUST_TEMPDIR testaruda
exec base origin/main --head HEAD — fixture + suite fresh on main, full
12-test run green 78.9s incl. real Cargo resolution). bd close
wild-aoq.5 ✓ — epic wild-aoq's tracer slice complete.
Durable knowledge: turu landing record → repo scope
(.whisper/env.md, id 03c62052); final snap → branch main notes (id
7b5be70b).
Next: wild-aoq.2 (replay independently graded Cargo
range-misclassification cases: consumer crate on dept ~1.2, frozen
registry, rustfmt-canonical source) is the open next slice of the
wild-aoq epic.
